What No More Appraisers

Yesterday in Northern California we were involved in a workshop for agents and lenders – talking about “best practices” planning for agents. The workshop was really great and interactive with a ton of Q&A. In our workshops, a lot of great dialogue comes up about a bunch of useful subjects. One of the attendees from yesterday is a lender with a major firm and he chimed in on what keeps him up at night when it comes to home loans and it deals with appraisers. Click the photo below for my short video on what this lender talked about, very interesting and something I was not aware of.

A few of the points the lender talked about:

Appraisers are getting out of the business in droves due to all the excessive scrutiny and the ones that are left are getting very picky.

Realtors should put extra focus on proactive communication with the lender and be careful about stamping everything a rush order.

Condo’s are not the easy “push-through” they used to be.

I am sure you are aware of the need for active communication with your lenders, no huge secret here. But I always like to hear what is top-of-mind with anyone who is involved in my sales process. So maybe this is just a heads-up reminder for you.
